Healthcare, always a hot button issue, looms right now as the whole world battles to control the deadly coronavirus. What is drawing the concerns, however, is how swiftly the coronavirus can become a pandemic, which is one of the reasons 195 people were isolated in California in the first mandatory quarantine issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 50 years. To date, the coronavirus has spread faster than swine flu or SARS, and the early death toll after initial discovery has been faster as well; leading the healthcare industry leaders to re-think the entire concept of care delivery.
The good news is that digital weapons such as telehealth and remote patient monitoring (RPM) are helping smart providers embrace healthcare digitization to transform and deliver care in challenging times.
